Sutil returns to Abu Dhabi

Adrian Sutil, after the performance? of Giancarlo Fisichella at Spa (pole and second place in the race) had taken over as Force India's troublemaker. After Spa and before Abu Dhabi, the German driver qualified three times out of four in Q3, among the ten drivers vying for pole position in qualifying. Last weekend, in Abu Dhabi, Sutil did much worse, with an 18th time on Saturday, transformed into 17th place on the grid after Heikki Kovalainen's penalty (McLaren).

« I was disappointed because the car was better than what we showed, comments the German pilot today. We lost everything in qualifying. We had to struggle with the tires and we made the wrong decision. During the race, I realized this because, with the ?medium? tires, I improved my qualifying time by one second, which is not at all usual »

Starting from afar, Adrian Sutil couldn't hope for much. “ I had a bad start and was almost last at the first corner. I still had to struggle with my tires and I was a victim of ?graining? after only five rounds. Sometimes we don't understand everything and every little detail makes a difference. »

Despite this disappointing result, the German driver presents a positive result, having scored five points this season, after taking fourth place in the Italian Grand Prix, on a fast track well suited to Force India single-seaters. Vijay Mallya?s team offered its driver to continue the adventure and his manager recognized that it was the most interesting option.
