Tatiana Calderón confirmed as Alfa Romeo Sauber test driver

Recruited last year as a Sauber development driver F1 Team, Tatiana Calderón climbs a rank in the hierarchy of the team now supported by Alfa Romeo. The 24-year-old Colombian was confirmed this Tuesday as a test driver for the Swiss structure for the 2018 season.

His role will notably consist of simulator training sessions in Hinwil but will also work with the engineers during several Grands Prix. Tatiana Calderón will also be entered in the GP3 Series this year with Jenzer Motorsport.

“This collaboration will build on the experience I have gained as a development driver with the team over the past year, and I look forward to continuing on this positive path, comments the young pilot.

I was able to develop my skills as a racing driver, and I am confident that I will do so throughout this year. I would like to thank the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team for this wonderful opportunity, which would not have been possible without the long-term support I receive from Escuderia Telmex. »

Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team will line up Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson as starters this year.
