Ticktum joins the Williams Racing Driver Academy

Daniel Ticktum has one great quality: his ability to bounce back. While we thought it was finished for car in the middle of the 2019 season (dismissal from the Red Bull Junior Team, stopping his program in Super Formula), the 20-year-old Briton no longer had any track in competition.

However, after a timid return with Van Amersfoort Racing in Formula Regional Europe and participation in the Macau Grand Prix, Daniel Ticktum hits hard. Not only he will compete in Formula 2 with the French team Dams, but moreover, he was hired by Williams as development driver !

“It’s a privilege to join the Williams Racing Driver Academy, especially with Williams’ legacy to our sport in mind., indicates Daniel Ticktum. The moments spent in the simulator and the experience alongside the team will be invaluable for my learning.

Claire Williams, the team principal of the family team, recalls the victories of Daniel Ticktum in F3“His talents behind the wheel have been evident throughout his double in Macau in 2017 and 2018. His technical expertise will be crucial to the training and we look forward to helping him grow in 2020.”
