Tim Goss replaces Paddy Lowe at McLaren Mercedes

As AUTOhebdo announced last week in the guide F1, the future of Paddy Lowe, until then technical director of McLaren, would seem to be heading towards Mercedes for the 2014 season. The Briton saw himself demoted in favor of his second Tim Goss, which now supports the hypothesis of a future departure of Lowe towards the team of the star brand. Furthermore, Lowe will be absent from the team for the first Grand Prix of the season in Melbourne on March 17.
The Woking team will now be able to count on Tim Goss, present at McLaren since 1990, as technical director: “I am delighted to have been promoted to Technical Director of McLaren, one of the most prestigious positions in global motorsport, and I look forward to making a significant contribution to McLaren?s continued success in this role. »

Paddy Lowe's role will be reduced to its simplest expression for this season, likely leaving for Mercedes next season: “Paddy Lowe will have a different role at McLaren until the end of the year. He has been an excellent and efficient technical director for our F1 cars, and we wish him good luck for his new challenge in 2014.”
