F1 starter at 28? “It’s almost unimportant” judge de Vries

There is no age to start as a holder in Formula 1. If some drivers like Max Verstappen or even Charles Leclerc were quickly propelled to the forefront, others had to be patient. This is the case of Nyck de Vries.

Champion of F2 in 2019, the Dutchman was not promoted following his coronation. His transition to F1 completely blocked by the lack of available opportunities in particular, Nyck de Vries took his trouble patiently by passing time on the side of the Formula E where he was crowned world champion in 2021 or even in Endurance where he was able to participate in 24 Hours of Le Mans among others.

De Vries did not give up

On the sidelines and probably promised to be there for a good while, the Batavian turned everything upside down when he replaced Alex Albon at the Italian Grand Prix. In the points from his first start, Nyck de Vries made his mark and had the luxury of negotiating his future. Initially in the fold Mercedes of which he was the reservist, he finally bounced back on the enemy's side, Red Bull where it will represent AlphaTauri from 2023.
