5. Force India VJM01, 2008

But it must certainly be too beautiful to be kept like this; from the first event in Australia, thethe single-seater is adorned with a design created in Paint : dapper red vies for place on the pontoon with gold, without forgetting white and a touch of gray. Infuriating.

4. Toro Rosso STR1, 2006
Take the colors Red Bull from the mid-2000s, remove the sponsors and the few lines of decorations, replace the yellow of the logo with gold and here is a beautiful decoration used by the new Toro Rosso team in the 2006 off-season.

Vitantonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed will then benefit from an explosive decoration and even more successful for the Grand Prix season.

3. Renault R27, 2007
After the second consecutive Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles in 2006, Renault found itself without a main sponsor. While waiting for the arrival of the ugly white and orange of an online bank (ING), the tricolor formation fills the empty space with a beautiful shade Navy blue. With the usual yellow stripes, the result is harmonious, with an appreciable touch of cheerfulness.

2. McLaren MP4-12 and MP4-21, 1997 and 2005
Sometimes you just have to keep it simple. McLaren decides to adorn its car of a “papaya” orange dress in the winter of 1997. This shade is a reminder of the brand’s history in F1  ; between 1968 and 1971, Bruce McLaren adapts the orange color to his F1 cars after trying it on his Can-Am prototypes. Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard will find more contemporary colors to follow the color code of the new main sponsor, the tobacco company West.

This initiative was renewed eight years later, with what has probably remained one of the most beautiful single-seaters of the 2000s, in the hands of Kimi Räikkönen and Juan Pablo Montoya.

1. Red Bull RB11, 2015
The most original of all! In 2015, the energy drink brand carried out a major promotional stunt with a “camouflage” decoration for the tests in Jérez de la Frontera and Barcelona (Spain). In addition to the promotional and aesthetic function, the decoration called “Camo” makes it harder to distinguish body shapes. A godsend when you know the hunt for little aerodynamic secrets that goes on in the paddock during testing days.

Christian Horner, the team director, will explain that the idea of such a livery was born from the helmet used by his former favorite Sebastian Vettel in Monza (Italy) in 2014. “It was a lot of fun and we thought it would be interesting to extend this concept to the whole car. Dietrich Mateschitz (Red Bull boss) liked it when he saw it. It's in the Red Bull spirit, we're not afraid to do things differently. » The same cannot be said definitive colors...
