Toro Rosso: Félix da Costa, a serious candidate

Among the many contenders to replace Mark Webber at Red Bull, Daniel Ricciardo is one of the favorites. And if the Australian managed to win the precious steering wheel, his current team, Toro Rosso, would be obliged to find a replacement for him. Therefore, it could very likely be Antonio Félix da Costa. The Portuguese, entered this year in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, is part of the Red Bull Junior Team and has already had the opportunity to drive a Formula 1. The last one was during the Youth Tests at Silverstone, when he measured himself against the Red Bull RB9. Its objective for 2014 was also clearly stated: “Yeah, I make no secret of the fact that my goal is to be in F1 next year”, declared the young pilot, aged 21.

“Antonio Félix da Costa is one of the candidates, but we are waiting to see what Red Bull's decision will be and, if they take Daniel, we will evaluate who to choose for our second cockpit”, announced on this subject Franz Tost, the Team Principal of the Faenza team, questioned by the Brazilian site Totalrace. Potentially good news for Jean-Eric Vergne, who should therefore keep his current steering wheel. Case to watch.
