Toro Rosso aims for 5th place among Manufacturers

Toro Rosso presented his STR10 in the Jerez paddock (Spain) on the eve of the start of winter testing. After securing seventh place in the Manufacturers' Championship, the Faenza team will aim for better results for its second season with Renault Sport F1.

“The 2015 season is a new challenge for all of us.”, commented Franz Tost, Team Principal of the Italian team. “We have worked a lot on STR10 and we are confident that this year will be successful. Our goal is to take fifth place in the Manufacturers' Championship. Renault has also worked very hard to secure new modifications and I am sure that together we will get a very competitive package. »

If the car of the 2015 season is based on the foundations of the STR9, the team will start again with an entirely new crew. Despite the lack of experience of Carlos Sainz Jr and Max Verstappen, Franz Tost remains confident about the potential of the new recruits. “These young drivers make the season even more exciting.”, added the Toro Rosso director. “They both showed great performances winning races and titles. Red Bull decided to hire them at Toro Rosso because of their skills. I'm sure they are ready. »
