Tost: “2014 will be a costly year”

At the end of the four days of testing, Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo have given enthusiastic feedback on the new STR8 engine Ferrari. Encouraging comments, which, according to Franz Tost, are not unrelated to the arrival of James Key in the team: “James has built a very good technical team around him and the method he brings particularly suits my philosophy. I am convinced that his direction is the right one for us, and that if we continue to work like this, we will be competitive.” Tost also recalled the team?s objective for this season: “We have set ourselves sixth place in the constructors’ world championship.”

In parallel with the 2013 season, Franz Tost also looked back on the changes for the 2014 season, which will bring significant expenses for the teams: ?The 2014 car will be technically extremely complex, with the arrival of the turbo, new cooling systems, gearboxes, monocoques, and current racing strategies that will have to be thrown overboard. My prediction? This will be a very expensive year! »
