Tost: Kvyat has champion genes

Daniil Kvyat received the support of his former boss Franz Tost as head of Toro Rosso, the Russian facing criticism following his lackluster start to the season at Red Bull Racing. The new recruit from Milton Keynes only scored 5 points after the first five Grands Prix, with two 9th places as his best result, while his teammate Daniel Ricciardo has 20 more units.

Franz Tost was keen to point out the official F1 website that Daniil Kvyat only has one full season in the discipline. “It takes time to be mature behind the wheel of a F1. That’s why I say I want to work with the pilots for three years.”, underlined the Team Principal of the Italian team. “Daniil only stayed one season with Toro Rosso. He is facing problems with his car and he is simply not as experienced as Daniel Ricciardo who drove with us for 3 years and played half a season with HRT. »

The skills of Daniil Kvyat there is no doubt about Franz tost who seems particularly confident about the future of the Russian pilot. “Daniil is a very competitive driver and I am sure he will be very fast if his car is reliable. He will have a bright future because he has champion genes”, assured the director of Toro Rosso.
