After eighteen hotly contested Grands Prix between the two residents of the stable Mercedes AMG F1, Abu Dhabi will signal the hour of conclusion. Who Lewis Hamilton, current championship leader with a 17-point lead, or will Nico Rosberg, the latest winner at Interlagos in Brazil, be crowned 2014 world champion on the Yas Marina Circuit? Toto wolff remains very impatient with just over a week to go before the outcome.
“When you look at the season, each driver had their ups and downs, and both showed great character to come back each time. As a team we are very fortunate to have such a talented pair of drivers, and each is a legitimate champion in the eyes of all the staff at Brackley, Brixworth or Stuttgart. Of course one of them will be extremely disappointed, says Wolff. Now it's up to us to ensure that this year ends in the right way by giving Lewis and Nico a car that will allow them to challenge for the title on track. It's fantastic for this sport to have such a final. May the best win. »
A second place would automatically ensure the coronation for Briton Lewis Hamilton. Remember that the points will be doubled during this final round, awarding 50 points to the winner next Sunday on the Yas Marina Circuit.
