“I think whoever gets an entry to become the 11th team has to demonstrate how creative they can be for our sport”, explained thus Toto wolff, the boss of Mercedes F1 Team, during the Hungarian Grand Prix. Despite all the respect he has for Andretti's work on the American scene, the Austrian judges that the entry of Audi as the eleventh force in the field would be more beneficial for the Formula 1

“Andretti is a big name, and I think they've done exceptional things in the United States, but it's about sport and business and we have to understand what you can bring to sport, explains Toto Wolff. If an equipment manufacturer or an international and multinational group joins F1 and can demonstrate that it will spend X dollars on triggering, on marketing in different markets; it's obviously a totally different value proposition for all the other teams. »

Toto Wolff therefore believes that increasing the overall value of F1 should be a sine qua non condition for the creation of a new entity. “With 10 franchises that we hope can increase the value, you are certainly not going to increase the value by just issuing new entries to people who cannot increase the overall value of Formula 1”, judge the person concerned. So that the cake is always bigger.
