Toto Wolff, strong link at Mercedes

The dominance of Mercedes en F1 in 2014 allowed the British Lewis Hamilton to win a second world champion title, following a tough battle with his German teammate Nico Rosberg. The Executive Director of Mercedes Motorsport, Toto wolff named Manager of the Year by the AUTOhebdo editorial team, looked back on a victorious campaign.

“The fight between Lewis and Nico will remain as the highlight of this 2014 season, explains the 42-year-old Austrian. With eleven victories, Lewis deserves his title. He had an incredible season with a lot of ups and downs but, at the end of the day, he is a very, very fine world champion. The best won. It was important for him to show that his first title (acquired with McLaren in 2008, Editor’s note) owed nothing to chance. But Nico surprised more than one this season, by being able to pick up Lewis on his favorite terrain, which is qualifying. He too showed that he had the makings of a world champion. See you in 2015, you won’t be disappointed…”
