Toto Wolff promises Vandoorne place in 2017
Toto wolff, the sports director of Mercedes, expressed his incomprehension at not seeing Stoffel Vandoorne on the starting grids of the Grands Prix. The reigning GP2 Series champion is patient in competing in Super Formula while waiting for McLaren makes a decision on his future, the Belgian having successfully replaced Fernando Alonso at the Bahrain Grand Prix this season.
“Today there are F1 with Max Verstappen, Esteban Ocon and Pascal Wehrlein the potential of several future stars. But among them, the one who undoubtedly has the most impressive track record is Stoffel, assured Toto Wolff the last hour. I am 100% sure that he will race in GP in 2017. And if McLaren is too crazy not to take him, if he doesn't get a drive elsewhere, I will find him a place myself. I promise you. »
