Toto Wolff comes back against Nico Rosberg at Spa

Mercedes missed a great opportunity to score a double at the Belgian Grand Prix. While the W05 Hybrids escaped at the head of the race with Lewis Hamilton in control ahead of the pole sitter Nico Rosberg, the Championship leader hit the right rear wheel of the Briton in Les Combes on the second lap. The 2008 world champion saw his race destroyed by a puncture while the German was able to salvage a second place despite a damaged front wing which required replacement.

Suffice to say that it's a grimace at Mercedes even if Nico Rosberg finds himself in a very good situation since he now has a 29-point lead over his rival for the title. But Toto wolff, the sporting director of Mercedes, finds it difficult to be satisfied with such a wasted opportunity and does not hide his impressions of the eagerness of Nico Rosberg. “We’re not trying to go overboard on the second lap to damage both cars. An accident between two teammates on the second lap of a long race is absolutely unacceptable. Lewis is very upset, but there is nothing we can say to him. » The Austrian businessman was supported by the non-executive president of the German team, Niki Lauda.
