Everything started well for Rosberg!

Author of an excellent start, Nico Rosberg was in the lead until the first refueling stop. Clearly in the dry, a podium, and perhaps even a victory, seemed within reach of the German driver. Only Rosberg and Williams took water… like many others.

Everything started well for Rosberg!

“I took control of the race at the start” says Nico Rosberg. “It’s been a while since Williams was not ahead in pure performance, and I have to thank my engineers for that. The car was working very well and I managed to push as needed, which allowed me to increase my lead every lap. Then the rain came, and it worked much less well for us. But hey, the main thing for us is to know that the car is fast in the dry. We will go and pick up the points we deserve next time.

Sam Michaël, Williams technical director, is also enjoying Nico's start to the race. “Nico’s departure was great. He then kept a good pace in the dry throughout his first stint. We made the same tire choices as the cars around us when the rain came, including the same choice as the Brawn or Trulli. But they gained more time than us in their pit stops. »

Nico Rosberg is finally classified 8th. A result which does not reflect his level of performance this weekend.
