It is with a smile that the troops ofAlpine are landing in the city of sin this weekend. It must be said that the double podium ofEsteban Ocon et Pierre Gasly gave them an adrenaline boost before tackling this final triplet which will take them from Las Vegas to Abu Dhabi in just two weeks.

With the wind at their backs, the French team now has hope for the end of the season after making the big jump from 9th to 6th place in the Constructors' Championship at Interlagos. Unimaginable just a few weeks ago given the situation and the performances of the team led by Oliver Oakes. No reason to cry victory, however, because the competition is not far behind. At 3 and 5 points to be precise, with Haas and Racing Bulls on the heels ofAlpine.

It is therefore with the objective of maintaining and above all protecting its 6th place that the A fléché will attack the meeting in the streets of Las Vegas. To do this, it will have to be irreproachable and avoid repeating the errors that may have been made during the season. All while perfectly controlling the external factors, often tricky in Nevada.

« The fight remains intense for sixth place in the championship and we want to maintain our position, so we will have to make sure we execute everything to perfection., warns Pierre Gasley. We have shown that we are capable of qualifying well and fighting for points. That will be our goal in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

It will be a challenge, but the team has been exceptional and I really think we can do it. Last year we had a good qualifying in Las Vegas, but my race was complicated by tyre management. The late start and cooler temperatures make it difficult to warm up the tyres at this event. So it will be interesting again, but I have to say I really enjoyed the circuit last year. I am looking forward to going back there this year while being focused on delivering another strong performance. »
