Toyota couldn't ask for better

Avec Jarno Trulli et Timo Glock en première ligne, l?équipe Toyota peut logiquement envisager son premier succès en F1. “We have been competitive since the start of the weekend, so pole position was our goal,” comments Pascal Vasselon, head of the chassis department. “Our two drivers did a great job and from Q1 we had confirmation that pole was within our reach. The race will be interesting, because the tires offer a really different performance. This will offer interesting possibilities on a strategic level. We saw yesterday that our pace over a lap is good and that our performance is consistent over long runs. We had a little alert this morning with an electronic problem on Timo's car. We must congratulate our engineers who managed to quickly resolve the problem. It now remains to convert this qualification into a good race result. »

For the fourth time in his career, Jarno Trulli will start from pole position with the aim of winning his second victory in F1. ?I?m really happy to be back on pole position. In reality, the day didn't go as well as yesterday, because I had some brake problems during the session,” admits the Italian. “It's a bit problematic for the race, we have to work on this tonight. However, I remain confident for tomorrow, because we showed good pace in racing conditions during free practice. We also paid attention to the management of our tires. The first three races weren't really to my advantage, I hope that will change tomorrow. I want to dedicate this pole position to my entire team, who worked so hard to get here! I also think of all the people in my region, Abruzzo, who suffered because of a terrible earthquake. »

In the race, Jarno Trulli will have to count on his teammate Timo Glock, very lively today despite an electronic problem in free practice. ?I had a problem with my car yesterday and we suffered a bit, but the team put everything back to normal this morning. In freestyle I had the best time, but once again we were interrupted in our work by electronic problems. But everything went very well in qualifying. I have to thank my mechanics and engineers, because the start of the season was not so easy for us. It?s a very good result for the whole team. »
