Toyota ready to fight

John Howett's team, which was one of the leading teams at the start of the season, has only won six points in the last three races, one of the worst totals in the paddock. But Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock are ready to fight.

Toyota ready to fight

« I relaxed during this summer break but I also exercised to keep myself in shape. I never stopped thinking about the race, so I am well prepared for this weekend. »

For his part, Jarno Trulli does not hide his joy at returning to the circuits. “ I'm really happy to get back on the track. It was great to have time to relax with my family. But my passion is racing, and it feels good to be back on the circuits. I feel like it's been a long time since the last race, so everyone in the team is motivated to get back into battle. »

It's the European Grand Prix, in Valencia, which takes place after the summer break. If Jarno Trulli does not make it one of his favorite circuits, they remain rather optimistic. “ Valencia is not a circuit that excites me, confirms the Italian. But it?s not a problem if we are fast, as we were last year on this track. Unlike Monaco, Valencia is very fast for a street circuit. It should suit our car well. We were in the top 6 in Valencia last year, that?s my goal for this year. »

For his part, Timo Glock confides that his preference is for urban circuits, like that of Valencia. The German therefore hopes to glean a good result there. “ I really like street circuits and I'm generally efficient at them. Last year Valencia was difficult for me because I had a bad cold and it was a challenge to finish the race. This year, I am determined to have fun behind the wheel of the car. We know that overtaking is very difficult. Qualifications will therefore be very important, like in Hungary. I finished in 6th position from 13th place on the grid: this weekend, my objective is to start as high as possible and give myself the chance of a good result. »

But the Toyota drivers will have a lot to do, with Red Bull who fight for the title in the drivers' and constructors' championships, but also with the ??historic?? teams, McLaren et Ferrari, determined to regain their domination in Formula 1 and prepare as best as possible for the 2010 season.
