We found it hard to imagine Kevin Magnussen in Korean Formula 1 next year, following a difficult start to the season at Haas. With the successive arrivals of Oliver Bearman andEsteban Ocon within the American team, that now seems impossible. Unless there is a huge surprise, the Dane should not find a new seat for 2025 and should, as in 2015 and 2021, find himself on the sidelines. For real this time?
Even if he expressed the wish – who wouldn't? – to stay in Formula 1 next season, Kevin Magnussen knows that his options are very limited, if not non-existent. Suffering from comparison with his teammate Nico Hulkenberg, he does not really convince in 2024. So, the 31-year-old driver must look elsewhere: the Scandinavian says he has been exploring exits outside the premier category for 2025 for some time now. We know he is fond ofEndurance, he who should have driven for Peugeot en WEC in 2022, before being recalled by Haas. In 2021, he participated in the full season in IMSA with Cadillac and Chip Ganassi Racing, but also with 24H of Le Mans in LM P2 with his father, Jan.
Kevin Magnussen could also move towardsIndyCar, a discipline he tried in 2021 by participating in the Road America round with Arrow McLaren. And there is no doubt that the Dane's experience will be coveted by any team in the United States and, at only 31 years old, K-Mag still has some talent!
Magnussen remains unclear about his future
But when asked, on the sidelines of the Belgian Grand Prix, if the WEC and IndyCar would interest him in case he did not find an opportunity in F1, Kevin Magnussen did not want to give a clue on its future. “Yes, all this [interests me]. I think anything is possible in this case. I'll see what's available and make my decision once I get there. At the moment I'm in Formula 1 and there are still a few places available for next year. I'd like to see where this all ends up, and then I'll consider things afterward. »
In Zandvoort, for the start of Formula 1, the Dane reaffirmed that “nothing has been decided” regarding 2025, but that he was not concerned about its future. “There are a few places still available in Formula 1, and discussions are still ongoing, but what will I do if I don't find a place in Formula 1? I'm not too stressed [about it]. »
So, be patient to find out Kevin Magnussen's next destination. However, he still has nine Grands Prix to compete in and above all to savour, since there is a strong chance that these will be the last nine F1 Grands Prix in his career. Unless, like his teammate, the Dane can make yet another comeback in the future...

KMag in IndyCar, a discipline where "hard racing" is the order of the day. He should fit in very well given his experience which at only 31 years old will be coveted by any Yankee team!
