A festival dedicated to Ayrton Senna planned in Sao Paulo

Ibirapuera Park in Sao Paulo (Brazil) will resonate with the sound of Formula 1 next Saturday, November 9. A festival will be organized in honor of the national legend, Ayrton Senna.

The three-time Formula 1 world champion will be celebrated through a demonstration of several legendary single-seaters: the Toleman TG184 used during the rainy 1984 Monaco Grand Prix finished in second place, and the Lotus 97T taken to victory in Estoril (Portugal) a year later.

Contemporary cars will also be highlighted with demos of the Mercedes V6 Turbo Hybrid from Esteban Gutierrez and a colorfully decorated Lotus Renault for hope Caio Collet.

“Driving an F1 car on the streets of my hometown will be a highlight of my life, explains the Brazilian from the Renault Sport Academy. I am very grateful to Renault for giving me this opportunity. This is going to be even more special as my family and friends will also be there.

F1 is undeniably a big thing in Brazil, so getting behind the wheel of one in front of some of the most passionate fans in the world will be incredible. »

“This is an excellent initiative from F1 to develop the sport while maintaining its already very strong base, certifie Cyril Abiteboul, general director of Renault Sport Racing.

Brazil has always been a country passionate about our discipline and this event will have all the more particular importance with the tribute paid to Ayrton Senna. Caio’s presence embodies Brazil’s promising future in motor racing.

He has a certain talent and he has a great opportunity to get behind the wheel of an F1 for the first time in his life. »
