A grain of sand in the Vettel machine

Sebastian Vettel experienced less success today on the Suzuka track where he is used to excelling. The pilot Red Bull was disrupted by SREC problems during the last free practice session before encountering these problems again during the last qualifying session of the Japanese Grand Prix. The Championship leader could perhaps have taken pole without a slight mistake, but his prospects remain high for tomorrow. His Australian teammate is not known for making excellent starts and his rival Fernando Alonso will only start from eighth position on the grid.

Sebastian Vettel can still hope to be titled this weekend if he wins and the driver of the Team fails beyond ninth place. “We already had an SREC problem this morning, but I don't think it makes any difference to the speed. Mark had a very good lap. We had another problem during qualifying, but I don't want to make any plans. The car is really competitive at the end of the day. We can go for the limits and I remain satisfied with second place. It was sometimes a little tense in these qualifications. »
