It's one of those weekends that Lewis Hamilton will not be remembered for long. Not really happy to return to Saudi Arabia a year after the terrorist events but also because of the country's political positions, the Englishman also experienced a complicated ordeal to say the least.

Lacking pace in qualifying with number 8e time and above all almost 4 tenths behind his teammate George Russell, the seven-time world champion still managed to limit the damage in the race. Helped by the lack of communication between Ferrari et Charles Leclerc in addition to a nice maneuver on Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton got away with the 10 points of the 5e instead.

Hamilton in pain

« We managed to score very good points, I managed to come up from 7e the 5e place what is most important, noted the British nevertheless a bit dissatisfied with his overall performance. If I had qualified better I could have obtained a better result. But we still leave with quite a few points. My weekend setup was the biggest problem I faced, giving me a hard time."

Starting on hard tires to shift his strategy, Lewis Hamilton did not appreciate the intervention of the Safety Car at 18e round. Forced to refuel in order not to lose big, the pilot Mercedes had to hold his mediums for 32 loops, notably depriving himself of a final part in attack mode as planned by the initial plan. Regardless, the native of Stevenage remembers the good side of things and especially the fact that he was able to show a completely different side compared to the qualifications.

« We didn't have the same tire degradation as in BahrainHe says. We were a lot closer to some of those ahead of us and it's great to be in the Top 5, ahead of the Ferraris. There's a lot to work on, but there are some positives to take away from this weekend. " All's well That ends well.
