A Max Verstappen record at Sepang

Youngest driver to start a Grand Prix a fortnight ago in Australia, the Dutchman Max Verstappen finally came to fruition in Malaysia by scoring his first points at the wheel of his Toro Rosso by placing 7th in front of his teammate Carlos Sainz.

“We did great teamwork, indicates the former resident of the European Championship of F3. The first few laps were quite tricky, as I was struggling with the mediums, so we stopped a little early to switch to the hard compounds, which worked perfectly. We had some good fights and it was pretty fun. It was the right strategy and we managed the tires well. It’s a real boost for the whole team. »

The young Dutchman held up perfectly physically in the heat of Sepang. The two Toro Rossos also allowed themselves to get ahead of the two Red Bull, who finish one lap behind the winner of the day, Sebastian Vettel.
