A first podium for Williams?

Williams can hope to secure their first podium of the season after qualifying for the Russian Grand Prix. By taking advantage of the misfortunes of Sebastian Vettel et Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas will start from the front row alongside Nico Rosberg while Felipe Massa will start in fifth position behind Kimi Räikkönen.

“I am very happy with this result. We couldn’t do better and my last flying lap in Q3 was very good”, explained Valtteri Bottas. “We are in a very good position for the race and we need to translate these good performances into the race. It’s a circuit that I really like and which suits our car. The new elements are also useful to us. We have fast cars that will start in front of us, which will make the race difficult, but the goal is the podium. »

“We were lucky with the penalties Ferrari et Mercedes, but the session was good. Anything is possible and this is probably the best track for us so far this season.”, recognized the Brazilian.

Williams drivers will also benefit from the low tire degradation which will limit pit stops. The majority of drivers should only make one stop.
