This is one of the images from this Monaco Grand Prix. On the 27th lap of the race, Mick Schumacher loses control of his Haas and hit the Tecpro barriers at turn 15. The car is split in two by the impact and the German manages to extricate himself from his vehicle. On a track which had already trapped him last year during free practice 3, the Haas driver once again made a mistake and logically did not see the checkerboard.

« The pace seemed good, and it felt like we could attack and push. We just ended up being a little too wide. Which is maybe a matter of 10cm, but in the end it was enough to lose all the grip we thought we had. And unfortunately the result is as it happened » Mick Schumacher analysis after passing through the medical staff.

This is already the second time this season that the son of the Red Baron has pulverized his car and found himself forced to end his race weekend after Saudi Arabia last March. “ This is obviously very boring. I think pace-wise we were really good. For the rest it was just about staying on the track, and unfortunately I wasn't able to do that », Specifies the 23-year-old pilot.

Zero points for Haas in Monaco

At the finish of the Grand Prix, the damage caused to the German's car risks further tarnishing Haas' record this weekend in Monaco. “ With Mick, we obviously saw what happened. It's not very satisfying to have another big accident. We need to see how we move forward from here », declares Günther Steiner while with inflation every expense counts even more for stay within the budget ceiling

In the other garage of the American team, the VF-22 of Kevin Magnussen also experienced a premature end to the Grand Prix on the 21st lap. The Dane who admitted to having had a good pace in the race was betrayed by his car. “ It's a disappointing day. Kevin's car was really fast. He had a problem with a water leak on the ERS system », adds the Italian team manager. After a good start to the season, it has now been 3 Grands Prix since Haas has scored any points. A series that the American team will try to stop in Baku on June 12.

After “Mazespin” forced to leave Haas because of Vlad POUTLER, around “Schumacrash” at the end of 2022 to leave Günther because of a really heavy addition since the start of the season which is going to be very long with some urban circuits to come?
