A camouflage livery for Mercedes in 2019?

The legendary rigor of Mercedes may well be shattered in 2019. The reigning four-time world champion Constructors team posted a photo on its Twitter account on Tuesday February 5, in which a front wing element is painted in “camouflage” mode :

“Money is so last year” it reads. Understand from this that classic silver decoration is a thing of the past! It remains to be seen whether this original livery will be used for the entire 2019 Formula 1 season, or simply for the winter tests in Barcelona (Spain, February 18-21 and February 26-March 1). The first elements of response will come during the full reveal of the W10, Wednesday January 13.

This visual challenge is in any case not new. In 2015, Red Bull caused a sensation with its livery called “Camo”. Like the vehicles tested on the road, the car had a decoration made of various figures in black and white, in order to make it more difficult to distinguish the shapes of the bodywork.

Unfortunately, the team had backtracked by the time of the Australian Grand Prix, with a much more conservative result…
