A special livery for Mercedes in Germany

Mercedes will have a little surprise for his national Grand Prix this weekend at Hockenheim. The Flèche d’Argent will have a special livery for their 200th GP start, but this unique decoration will above all pay homage to the 125 years of motorsport.

The German manufacturer wants to mark the occasion to echo the Paris-Rouen race contested in 1894 which was won by a machine powered by Gottlieb Daimler. This event was the first competition in history.

It remains to be seen whether the Mercedes W10s will show their usual domination on the Hockenheim circuit. The new heatwave which will hit this week in Europe could complicate the work of the German team.

“The forecast is for high temperatures, which really made life difficult for us in Austria, so we have to remain vigilant, noted the executive director of Mercedes Motorsport Toto wolff. Like Spielberg, Hockenheim is a relatively short circuit which will reduce the gaps between the teams. We will have to remain humble. »
