An opportunity for a podium at Red Bull?

Three times fourth in the first four events of the year, Daniel Ricciardo had partly benefited from the setbacks of its rivals at Ferrari et Mercedes to get to the foot of the podium. For the first Grand Prix contested in Western Europe in 2016, the Australian estimates that Red Bull Racing could return to the top 3, after the third place of his now former teammate Daniil Kvyat in China, due to the characteristics of the Catalan route.

“It’s a circuit that’s quite hard on the tires, underlines the Australian, third on this same circuit in 2014, and who hopes to repeat his performance in 2016. We are generally a little stronger than other teams in this area. So this could be a good opportunity to get us closer to the podium. »

The Spanish Grand Prix will also mark a new beginning for Red Bull Racing with the arrival of the Dutch prodigy Max Verstappen from the sister team Toro Rosso to replace Daniil Kvyat.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to drive for Red Bull Racing and I can’t wait to jump in the car in Barcelona, admits Jos Verstappen’s son. I have a lot of work to do before the race, a lot of data to study, but luckily it's a track I know well because we drive there so often. For me the best parts of the track are turns 3 and 9, because they are the high speed ones. The last sector is also interesting, because it is very technical and demanding on the tires. »
