With single-seaters tending to be heavier and heavier (798 kg minimum in 2023), we have to chase the grams where they are. And all the teams this year scratched the paint. Alfa Romeo is no exception.

The team from Hinwil (Switzerland) joined forces with the paint supplier RM, which will apply its products to the titanium and carbon fiber compounds that shape the C43. This partnership also aims to reduce CO2 emissions linked to paint production.

« We are very pleased to welcome RM to Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake as our exclusive technical paint supplier, declares Alessandro Alumni Bravi, representative of the team. HASWith its level of expertise and commitment, and a common goal in terms of efficiency and sustainable development, RM is the ideal partner in Formula 1. »

And to add: " Their high-quality products, which will be used on our 2023 cars, have set a new standard in reducing paint weight, which will be fundamental to allowing us to gain speed on the track. »

If the Alfa Romeo was already one of the lightest single-seaters on the grid last year, all the teams had to cut back on the livery to gain precious hundredths of a second. Ferrari, Alpine ou Haas display some areas of apparent carbon, when Mercedes…unveiled an all-black W14 on track.

« We are very proud to join forces with Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake and share our know-how and expertise with our pioneering solutions, welcomes Chris Titmarsh, vice president of Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions EMEA. Our AGILIS water-based paints are the most advanced technologies in terms of light paints.

They guarantee a rapid process and lower overall consumption of materials, thus protecting the environment by producing less CO2 and saving energy. We are honored to see our products used by a team with such heritage in Formula 1, we can't wait to get started. »

To see the impact of these few grams less on the track, go to the first race weekend of the season in Bahrain, from March 3 to 5.
