A first day of 128 laps for Fernando Alonso

He was one of the attractions of the day. Fernando Alonso made his first official laps with theAlpine and marked his big comeback in Formula 1, in the team that brought him glory in 2005 and 2006.

In the match from the first loops, the double world champion signed the second best time of the morning behind his predecessor Daniel Ricciardo. He moved back in the hierarchy in the afternoon to finally place tenth with a time of 1'32"339.

But whatever, the times are not significant. The main thing was to shoot. And on this point, he is in second place in the ranking with 128 laps, four loops less than Latifs (Williams). The Spaniard made no mistakes and had no problems.

“We did a lot of laps today and followed the program that was planned, so that's good, but we have to sit down now and analyze everything,” reacted Alonso. 

The car was good today, but I think we still need to understand the characteristics of the new aerodynamic package better. We raced with the harder compounds today and we have more testing to do tomorrow, so between me and Esteban (Or with) we will aim to collect even more data and refine the whole package.”

The two pilots Alpine will share the wheel on Sunday for the last day of testing, half a day each.
