A successful debut for Alex Lynn with Lotus

Lotus put two hopefuls on the track this Wednesday car in the person ofEsteban Ocon and Alex Lynn. If the Frenchman had already performed in free practice during the season finale of F1 on the Yas Marina Circuit, it was a great first for Briton Lynn, crowned GP3 Series champion with his team Carlin, last weekend in Abu Dhabi. The 21-year-old driver was able to complete 52 laps behind the wheel of the E22 engine Renault.

“I'm glad I was able to accomplish everything they wanted from me today,
Lynn explains. It was an impressive program, with many different evaluations. The team really listened and it was a fantastic day. I’m looking forward to my next opportunity to drive a Formula 1 car.”

Lynn was on the shortlist of Toro Rosso to take a place alongside the Dutchman Max Verstappen in 2015, while Jean-Eric Vergne announced today that he would not drive for the Faenza team next year.
