Turbo pressure that costs Vettel dearly

Sebastian Vettel suffers another blow in his fight for the title. The pilot Ferrari who seemed able to take pole at the Malaysian GP had to return to the pits in Q1 before even being able to set a time. The four-time world champion experienced engine power losses after it was replaced following FP3 where he suffered a similar problem.

“I started my lap and lost power towards the middle of the circuit. We encountered a problem with the turbo pressure and we need to identify the origin of the problem.", explained Sebastian Vettel who is 28 points behind Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), author of the pole.

Sebastian Vettel will be able to change engine elements once again without fear of penalties, the German already being last on the grid. The Ferrari driver will be able to benefit from a track that makes overtaking easier and perhaps be able to do well with the uncertain conditions for the race.

“It’s hard for the team because I know we had a fast car today, but that’s part of motorsport. We will be able to regain places tomorrow in the race by taking advantage of the opportunities. We know a lot of things can happen”, hopes Sebastian Vettel who remembers his retirement from the Singapore GP.
