If we knew that the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix would take place over two days (October 31-November 1), Liberty Media had not yet formalized the final program for the weekend at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari from Imola.
Pilots will only be entitled to a single free practice session on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., before the qualifications, always contested over one hour from 14 p.m. to 15 p.m. The Grand Prix will be run from 13:10 p.m. on Sunday, earlier than the times of recent years established by Liberty Media.
Remember that Imola will be a first for many on this track at the wheel of a F1. Alpha Tauri had evolved in private testing before the restart, and only Kimi Räikkönen was involved in 2006, the year of the last San Marino Grand Prix.
A new format being tested, the feedback provided by the drivers and teams will undoubtedly be closely scrutinized by the promoter. A possible change in the format of the weekends has been a subject that has come up regularly in discussions for several months.
