A victory, podiums… Esteban Ocon’s figures with Renault/Alpine

The rumor gained momentum moments after the finish of the Qatar Grand Prix on Sunday. It finally became official on Monday morning. Esteban Ocon et Alpine will not complete their contract. In a very complicated season in which he does not see the end of the tunnel, the Norman therefore made his last appearance with the French team on the Losail track, unfortunately punctuated by a retirement at the first bend.

In his statement, Alpine says it has released Esteban Ocon to allow him to carry out end-of-year tests with Haas, and thus avoid any contractual dispute between the parties concerned. Even if deep down, it seems more complex. No matter, the story, which began in 2020 and was supposed to be one of the most beautiful, ends on a false note and a backdrop of divorce, the result of a tension that has continued to grow over the course of the year.

In total, the Ébroïcien played 5 seasons under the colours of Renault, became Alpine since 2021. During this period, he participated in 106 Grands Prix for 309 points scored.

On an accounting level, his best campaign was 2022 with 92 points scored. On an emotional level, how can we forget 2021 and his victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix, the first for the house since Fernando Alonso at the Japanese Grand Prix in 2008. Also the only one so far under the name Alpine.

Not forgetting the three other podiums in Bahrain in 2020, in Monaco in 2023 and the most recent in Brazil where he climbed on the box in the company of his now ex-teammate. Pierre Gasly. Now, it is at Haas that he is expected to take on a new challenge in his career.
