Uralkali demands “immediate refund” from Haas

If the contract was broken only a few days ago, the story enters Haas and Uralkali is far from over. Dropped by the American team given the political situation in Ukraine, the Russian firm specializing in the production of fertilizers has decided to raise its voice in the matter by demanding reimbursement of the costs already paid for the 2022 campaign Formula 1.

Uralkali intends to protect its interests in accordance with applicable legal procedures and reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings, claim damages and request reimbursement of significant amounts paid by Uralkali for the 2022 Formula 1 season. »

The former title sponsor of the American structure believes that Haas “ failed to fulfill his obligations " towards him. Upset by the decision of the Kannapolis team, the management of Uralkali therefore asks “ an immediate refund » advanced fees for the 2022 campaign.

With this reimbursement, and the remaining part of the budget initially devoted to F1, Uralkali aims to finance the “We Compete As One” foundation intended to help athletes who do not have the opportunity to compete at the highest level for political reasons beyond their control, including Nikita mazepin will be the standard bearer.
