Mercedes made the perfect shot during this qualifying session. Lewis Hamilton had to set the best time during Q3, only to start in eleventh position for the Turkish Grand Prix. His teammate, Valtteri Bottas, will start from pole position in front Max Verstappen. At a press conference, the Finn praised the work of his team.

“It was a good session and obviously for our team it was the ideal scenario that happened. Q1 was tricky with a few wet spots, and even in Q3, but I managed to find the best way around them. The level of grip was correct. As Lewis has said since the start of the weekend, the car has been in good condition, so there was no point in making massive changes.”

The current third in the championship expects to experience a complicated race at the head of the peloton, since he will see in his mirrors the Red Bull of Max Verstappen and the Ferrari de Charles Leclerc.

“We have a powerful car, but obviously the Red Bulls will be dangerous because they have good race pace. And Ferrari has had a good weekend so far. I have to concentrate on my race, keep my motivation to make an excellent start ».

The future pilot Alfa Romeo will he manage to maintain the lead of the race during the first turns of Istanbul Park? Answer tomorrow at 14:00 p.m. for the start of the 16th Grand Prix of the season in Turkey.
