Valtteri Bottas not worried about the pressure ahead

New team, new teammate, but above all new challenge. The 2017 season of Valtteri Bottas will be closely watched, the Finn having been chosen to replace the retiring world champion Nico Rosberg.

An important costume for the former pilot Williams, who admits that he thinks he can handle the logical pressure that should arise in the first races and throughout the season.

“It would be very easy to take on a lot of pressure and stress yourself out, specifies Bottas on MTV. But Formula 1, I noticed that if the pressure builds up, it can only harm you.

My goals are always very high, the bar is very high, so I believe that if the pressure comes, it will come more from me than from outside. I want to win races and championships and in this sense the objective does not change. I have huge support from the team and that will definitely help me in any situation. »

The Finn who admitted shortly after his appointment to having “a chance to fight for the title” knows that he will be able to count on a team Mercedes eager to keep her crowns.

“Even if they have won every championship for the last three years, it is still not enough […], comments Bottas. They are not satisfied with that and know that it requires a lot to continue winning. »
