Van der Garde confirms deal with Sauber

Giedo van der Garde announced that he had reached an agreement with Clean F1 Team and that he had ended the contract which linked him to the stable ofHinwil. Australian justice ruled in favor of the Dutchman when he complained about non-compliance with the terms of his contract supposed to guarantee him a starting place against Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr.

“We reached an agreement with Sauber and my driver contract ended by mutual agreement,” commented Giedo van der Garde in a statement. “I feel sad and disappointed as a driver. I have worked very hard throughout my career since I was 8 years old in karting in order to live my dream of being an F1 driver. »

Giedo van der Garde remains angry against Sauber F1 Team and seems to have drawn a line under F1. “I was hoping to be able to show what I could do by driving a mid-grid car in 2015. I know now that my dream is probably over. The Team Principal (Monisha Kaltenborn) did not authorize me to drive, not taking into account my rights despite a series of court decisions in my favor and my abilities. I will never understand this."

The Dutchman ends by specifying that it was his sponsors who allowed Sauber to complete the 2014 season. His compensation could still reach the sum of 15 million euros.
