​Stoffel Vandoorne set the best time in the morning session of the first day of testing in Budapest.

Vandoorne leads the morning in Hungary

With a total of 35 laps and a best time of 1’18”370, Stoffel vandoorne was the fastest in the first half of the Budapest test day. Charles Leclerc on Ferrari achieved the second best time less than a tenth behind the Belgian and is the best young driver of the morning.

Valtteri Bottas as for him, he was testing prototypes of Pirelli 2018 tires like Haas, Williams et McLaren did so after the British Grand Prix. The Finn set the third benchmark of the session and racked up the most laps, namely 71.

Lance stroll, replacing Felipe Massa, signs on 4e time ahead Nikita mazepin for Force India. George Russell for Mercedes is 5e before Nicholas latifi for Renault.

Santino Ferrucci is the young driver to have completed the most laps with Haas F1 by completing the Hungarian Tourniquet 55 times. On the other hand, Max Verstappen is the one who completed the fewest laps in the morning, having been blocked by an engine problem on his first installation lap.

Sean Gelael made the 10e time on board the Toro Rosso with only 23 laps covered while Gustav Malja brings up the rear for Sauber.

The session was interrupted three times by red flags, following technical problems with the Toro Rosso of Sean Gelael and the McLaren of Vandoorne. Only one driver change is to be noted for the afternoon with Lucas Auer who will discover F1 with Force India.
