The 2018 season of F1 has not yet started but debates are already heated on several subjects. The introduction of Halo, this cockpit protection system, placed on single-seaters from this year has already caused a lot of ink to flow. The replacement of grid girls by “Grid Kids” also caused strong reactions among fans.
Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal ofAlfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team, however, defends these changes.
“The grid girls are being replaced by the ‘Grid Kids’ and it’s an idea I like. As for the Halo, it is a safety feature and we will be very happy to have it in place if a serious accident happens., commented the Frenchman to the Swiss newspaper View. Nothing has changed so far on the track. This is just marketing. Even the new schedules do not upset F1. »
