Vergne: We are a little too slow

Vergne: We are a little too slow

For this great first in Canada, Jean-Eric Vergne completed 69 laps, the best of which was recorded in 1'17"124, the 19th best performance of the day. Even if the time shows a certain lack of competitiveness, the 2011 Formula vice-champion Renault 3.5 thinks its car has better potential on long stints.

« The day went well, because even though there were two red flags and a few drops of rain, we were able to complete the entire program, doing a lot of laps, comments Jean-Eric Vergne. But right now we're a little too slow and have to work through the night to find speed in the data. On the long runs we seemed to be better than on the short runs. For the track, I enjoyed my first ride and it's really difficult and exciting. »
