Towards less expensive customer engines

Monday and Tuesday were held two important meetings in F1. On the one hand, the Strategic Group and then the F1 Commission met to discuss one of the hot topics in the discipline: the question of costs.

The teams had until last Friday to submit their ideas on this question among others, after the F1 Commission's rejection of the idea of an alternative engine although defended by the FIA.

As reported by Reuters, an agreement would have emerged between the four engine manufacturers involved Mercedes, Renault, Ferrari and Honda so that the costs of V6 turbo / hybrids supplied to customer teams are reduced, the current V6 – turbo – hybrid architecture must in return be retained until 2020.
