Even when the season of Formula 1 is over, rankings continue to fall. This time, it does not concern the sports but the economic since it concerns the one of the highest salaries.
Without surprise, This is the business magazine Forbes who published this ranking a few days after the last Grand Prix held in Abu Dhabi. In this Top 10, some changes are to be noted compared to the previous seasonThese do not concern the drivers who form it but rather the order which evolved between 2023 and 2024.
Verstappen's third pass, Norris' biggest improvement
As in 2022 and 2023, Max Verstappen has once again dominated the debate. Compared to the previous Forbes ranking, the Dutchman earned $5 million for an estimated salary of $60 million and $15 million in bonuses. Behind him, Lewis Hamilton still follows him. The seven-time world champion keeps his same salary (55 million euros) but has pocketed 2 million in bonuses.
The “big winner” is Lando Norris who went from 6th to 3rd place and received 20 million dollars more (12 million in salary and 23 million in bonuses). The “big loser” is Sergio Pérez. In addition to having had a very difficult season on the sporting level, Checo saw his income drop from 26 to 19,5 million dollars (12 million in salary and 7,5 million in bonuses) thus going from 4th to 8th place.
To make these estimates, while not all salaries are made public, Forbes magazine collaborated with Caroline Reid, a contributor to Forbes.com and the data firm Formula Money. According to the magazine, " Estimates are based on financial documents, legal filings and press reports, as well as conversations with industry insiders. All compensation is rounded to the nearest half million. »

When will there be a small kitty paid by F1 drivers to pay permanent stewards for the season since they rightly complain about the inconsistency of decisions? Perhaps the FIA should pay using the teams' entry fees and/or the cost of the super-license!!
