The end of the 2024 season was so intense and competitive that we almost forgot that Max Verstappen must still serve community service following the swearing episode last September! Remember, more than two months ago: on the sidelines of the Singapore Grand Prix, the Dutchman used the word "fucked", an insult in the language of Shakespeare, to describe the behavior of his car in previous races.

The now four-time world champion had been criticized by the FIA, which had decided to tighten the screws on the language used by drivers in front of the media, and had been sentenced to community service which had so far remained to be determined. At the end of the last Grand Prix of the season, in Abu Dhabi, the driver Red Bull now knows the date and nature of the work he will have to carry out with the FIA, on December 13 in Rwanda.

"Verstappen will travel to the FIA Prize Giving Ceremony during the General Assemblies next week in Kigali, Rwanda, to collect his fourth consecutive World Championship trophy. Formula 1 of the FIA. During his stay in Kigali, he will work with junior drivers as part of the local development programme organised by the Rwandan Motor Sport Federation, the governing body published in a statement. The activity will involve an FIA Affordable Cross Car which has been built locally in Rwanda by the RAC from designs provided by the FIA. The design plans for the Category 2 Affordable Cross Car project have been delivered to the global network of 147 National Sporting Authorities.

Max Verstappen had already been sanctioned with community service imposed by the FIA earlier in his career: in 2018, after an altercation with Esteban Ocon At the Brazilian Grand Prix he had to go to a test of Formula E in Marrakech as an observer with the stewards. He had also followed training on the role of sports stewards in Geneva.

It is for his sometimes dangerous behavior of a brat on the track (and his insults towards the stewards) that he should be sanctioned, not for "bad words" on the microphone concerning his car. This demonstrates the inconsistency (or even the incompetence) of the FIA.

And what about his comment yesterday about the 10 second penalty? Well, it's true that in a few months, he'll be involved in his own community service with the changing of his offspring's diapers!

Max, he must love TIGs... He called the stewards "stupid idiots" again during the GP, which would normally earn him a red card on a football pitch... I'm not even talking about rugby. It's his Achilles heel...
