It's hard to believe that the reigning double world champion had never won at the opening of a season of Formula 1, nor in Bahrain for that matter. The statistical error is repaired. And in what way! If the Red Bull driver must work against his teammate Sergio Pérez to take pole position from him, he faces no competition during a GP that is masterfully conducted, from the lights going out to the checkered flag. Verstappen sends a clear signal: he is the big favorite for his own succession.
