Verstappen: “The regulations will not improve racing”

Max Verstappen is eager to return to competition armed with the new Red Bull RB15 now powered by Honda. The Dutchman, renowned for his attacking temperament on the track, does not think that he will experience more thrilling races in terms of overtaking.

“The wider, more streamlined front wings are supposed to improve overtaking. Other little things will evolve like the rear wings which will also be wider, but I don't think it will work that well. In any case, it will be a new challenge for everyone and I hope that we will be the strongest to take advantage of it”, commented the five-time Grand Prix winner.

Max Verstappen is betting a lot on the RB15 after his frustrating season in 2018 where he was only able to achieve two successes.

“The team had a very bad season last year and I expect them to be stronger this year, simply because they will have learned from their mistakes. But if all the teams do well with these new regulations, we should find a hierarchy similar to the one we know. It won't improve the races because the cars have too much downforce and they are too wide. Despite everything, we know that there are tracks conducive to overtaking and it should stay that way”, confirmed the Dutchman.
