Author of his 3rd pole position in a row, his 4th of the season, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) once again showed that he was the man to beat this year.

Comfortable on the asphalt of the Red Bull Ring, the 23-year-old Dutchman left no chance to his opponents who were forced to bow again like Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) only 4th on the starting grid in Austria.

But there you go, Max Verstappen is a hungry boy who always wants more and despite this new pole on the Red Bull Ring he did not seem satisfied.

« Q3 was pretty bad, he said immediately, annoyed at having left too early. I am obviously happy to be first but not in the way we did it. Q1 and Q2 went very well. Everything was crystal clear and the laps were good enough.

In Q3, I was first on track (during the last attempts. Ed.) so I lost time on the straights. I did not manage to improve my time, even if I negotiated turn 3 better. It was enough to take pole but I would have liked to have had a more competitive Q3. Now I hope we can finish the job this Sunday ».

Somewhat annoyed, the driver of the British-Austrian team is not discouraged and is already turning towards the Grand Prix. Leading the peloton for the second time in a row at the Red Bull Ring, Max Verstappen is now aiming for a 5th victory this season.

« The tires are softer compared to last week so it won't be easy to manage them during the race. We will focus on our Grand Prix and try to win it ».
