Verstappen replaces Kvyat at Red Bull Racing

The Russian Grand Prix was more than complicated for Daniil Kvyat, who crashed Sebastian Vettel at the start of the race, will not have worked in favor of the Russian. Red Bull announced this Thursday morning the replacement of the 3 GP2013 Series champion by Max Verstappen from the next Spanish Grand Prix (May 13-15). Kvyat will return to the stable Toro Rosso, with whom he had started in F1 in 2014.

“Max has proven to be an exceptional young talent, specifies Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing. His performances at Toro Rosso have been impressive so far and we are happy to give him the opportunity to drive for Red Bull Racing.

We are in the unique position of having four drivers at Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso under long-term contracts with Red Bull. So we have the possibility of moving them between the two teams.

Daniil will be able to continue his development at Toro Rosso, in a team he knows well, giving him a chance to regain his form and show his potential. »
