Beware of the sleeping wolf! Unhappy with his Friday, in better shape this Saturday for EL3, Max Verstappen showed his talent in qualifying to dominate all of his comrades and dismiss Lewis Hamilton in the race for pole position on the Austin side.

Revived after a lot of work by his team to upgrade his RB16B, the leader of the world championship gave the Englishman no chance in qualifying and even became the only driver to go under the 1'33 mark. this week-end.

« It was very exciting on the track, he admitted after winning the 12th pole of his career. In Q3, my first lap was not exceptional then in the last lap there were a few drops, particularly in the 3rd sector. I didn't know if I was going to be able to achieve this time. In the end it was enough and I was able to line up everything to take pole. It feels good especially since we were very far away at the start. Be 1st and 3rd (his teammate Sergio Pérez. Editor’s note) is a solid performance from the team."

Now turned towards the race where a new duel with Lewis Hamilton awaits him, Max Verstappen hopes to join forces with Sergio Pérez to try to defeat the Briton once again. “ That's what people like. I will try to get a good start and then we will have to work as a team to achieve the best possible result."
